    Saint Lucy's Day is a Christian feast day celebrated on December 13, commemorating Santa Lucia, a 3rd-century martyr. The feast is a Catholic celebrated holiday with roots that can be traced back to Sicily. Of course this is a different year and the pandemic has canceled all initiatives, but we want to remember them so that we are all ready to celebrate next year.
  • These are times of pandemic, everything changes. Even these days dedicated to Halloween and other traditions in Italy as in the world. Everything will be different but we need to remember our traditions to continue as soon as everything is over. In all the Italian regions in the days between October 31st and the day of Saint Martin (November 11th) is custom to celebrate the juxtaposition of life and death with numerous events
  • The Cathedral of Syracuse
    There are so many ways to explore Sicily. This time we chose to highlight the southwestern side of the Island and its baroque treasures. Baroque Sicily has a particular charm, one that epitomizes Mediterranean aesthetics.
  • The visit of Nello Musumeci, President of the region of Sicily, is a cause of celebration for New Jersey’s Sicilian community. It’s the occasion to reactivate the measures that have in the past kept alive the ties between Sicilian communities and their region of origin.
  • He leaves us today, at age 93, the great master of contemporary Italian literature. We will miss everything about him. But, even without him, the search for the places and smells of Montalbano’s Sicily continues. A Sicily that many of us will never find because, like Vigata, it doesn’t exist geographically. What does exist is a place made up of colors and flavors, of unforgettable dishes, of dishonest people but also many good ones, who love justice and fight for it despite everything.
  • If you think Italian food is off-limits for people with diabetes, think again. My motivation for writing this book was to change the way Italian cuisine is viewed abroad and to demonstrate ways in which traditional Italian food can be part of a diabetes-friendly eating plan. While thoughts of the bel paese (“beautiful country”) generally conjure up the image of platters of carbohydrate-rich pastas and fat-laden sauces, authentic Italian cuisine is both healthful and delicious.
