  • Following the Italy Run, organized by the Consulate together with Nutella Cafe and New York Road Runners, which took place on June 2nd, the celebrations for Italian National Day picked up again the following day at the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of Italy, with a series of events featuring prominent Italian brands, figures, food, and a delightful jazz performance by Chiara Civello.
  • The honorees and special guests
    The Association of Italian American Educators celebrated their 22nd Annual Awards and Scholarships Ceremony at the Consulate General of Italy in New York on May 3rd, 2019. This year's honorees included i-Italy's very own Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Letizia Airos, who along with Cav. Giulio Picolli, Prof. Massimo Zordan, and Joe Piscopo, were awarded for their work in promoting the Italian language and culture in the US.
  • A glorious revival for the Italian artist. In conjunction with the exhibition at the Frick Collection and the showing at the Italian Cultural Institute, the Consulate General of Italy showcases the photographic exhibition, “Antonio Canova,” by Fabio Zonta.

    Coincidentally, with the exhibition at the Frick Collection of Canova’s plaster model of the George Washington Statue and the photographic show at the Consulate General of Italy "Antonio Canova," by Fabio Zonta, the Italian Cultural Institute in New York presents another face of the Italian artist identity; 16 rare tempera paintings. We talked about it with the Director of the Institute Giorgio Van Straten. The exhibition "Canova e la Danza" will be on until June 28th.
  • At the Consulate General of Italy, homage was paid to the fallen victims of the attacks on the Twin Towers. It was also an occasion to remember the Italians whose lives were lost during that tragic event. The Consulate hosted representatives from New York’s Italian community and an institutional delegation from the city of Brescia, who remembered the attack on Piazza della Loggia 43 years ago.

    Italian institutions celebrate June 2nd and italianità. An entire day filled with the best in Italian food, classic and contemporary art, and jazz. Community representatives inaugurated the design of the Consulate General of Italy’s new waiting room. Also noteworthy was the presence of Italian Ambassador Armando Varricchio, who presented awards to Frank Bisignano and Jhumpa Lahiri .
