Over 8,000 consumers, trade representatives and members of the press flocked to the Expo over the weekend to indulge in a taste of authentic Italy. 41 Italian companies, including wine producers, olive oil manufacturers and importers, cheese makers and foodies, came together in the Italian Pavilion under the guidance of the Italian Trade Commission.

The East Coast MRKET trade show for menswear and accessories just wrapped up at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan. 36 Italian exhibitors representing 40 Italian brands participated in the show, thanks to the support by the Italian Trade Commission.

The 25th edition of Premiére Vision Preview New York, the most important trade show for textile and accessories on the East Coast, took place on July 11 and 12 in Chelsea. 30 Italian exhibitors participated in the show, and distinguished themselves for the innovative products they proposed to the American corporate buyers. “The Italian presence in this textile trade show is traditionally very much appreciated,” Italian Trade Commissioner Aniello Musella told i-Italy.

The traditional Orvieto wines produced by Le Velette winery were presented on July 12 at the Italian Trade Commission. Imported by AgriLand, an Italian-American import-export company that recently inaugurated its Bronx showroom, Le Velette wines have been produced in the surroundings of Orvieto by the Bottai family, running the winery for over 150 years. Umbria also has a lot to offer as a touristic destination, and oenogastronomic tours of the region are gaining popularity among the American customers.

The 25th edition of the fair will take place on July 11 and 12 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea. It will anticipate the collections that will be presented at the Milano Unica fair in Italy.
