  • Leo Yeni, an Artist’s Paper Life, presented by NYU Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò in collaboration with Centro Primo Levi showcases the life and struggles of a man through his art. To some, the show, curated by Cynthia Madansky, is an interesting look into the mind of the artist, who like many other Italian jews was abandoned by his country, to others such as Lillian Spiegel, it’s one more step towards giving Leo what he never managed to obtain during his lifetime, Italian citizenship.

    An art exhibit that explores the depths of human perception and the many perspectives of the human mind as well as the human body. Interested in learning more? Alberto Giacometti, infamous 20th century modern artist, has his artwork displayed at the Guggenheim for the public to examine and be captivated by the art created by an imaginative spirit until Sept. 12

    One of Italy's most acclaimed fiction writers, Dacia Maraini, came to New York for a series of events, one of which was the inauguration of italytime’s new theatrical space. A performance of her latest work "Una pittrice di provincia" (A Provincial Painter), directed by Vittorio Capotorto, made its international debut in the new theater. The evening concluded with the opportunity for the audience to ask Maraini any questions that they may have had for the famous writer.
  • Two years since his passing, we remember a man, a friend, and a great designer who left behind traces of Italy throughout New York. Massimo Vignelli worked in a wide range of fields, in interior design, environmental design, package design, graphic design, furniture design, and product design, and his clients at Vignelli Associates included high profile companies such as IBM, MTA, Poltrona Frau, Knoll, Bloomingdale’s and American Airlines.
  • Her name is Borinquen Gallo, she is an artist born in Rome 33 years ago from an Italian father and a Puerto Rican mother. Her personal history is incredible and at the same time touching: she came to New York in 1988 with her parents at the age of 13. Her parents followed the call of Pope John Paul the II to volunteer as a missionary family and so they left everything behind and we moved from Rome to the South Bronx on a mission of the Catholic Church...
